What’s Holding You Back?

May 15th, 2009 by Lena

How’s your manifesting going? Are you creating EVERYTHING you want when you do things like set intentions, state your desired outcomes and use affirmations? Or do you find that it works some of the times and that you’d like to see it work more often? If there are things that are not quite coming together, you are likely in vibrational contradiction to that which you desire.

You’ve probably heard often things like:

  • What you focus on you create
  • Change your thoughts and you’ll change your life
  • Thoughts create things, and so on.

After hearing these things you probably started to take more responsibility for your thoughts and exchanged negative thinking for positive thinking. As you did this I’m betting that things started to shift for you.

Then you went to the next level of creation and learned things like:

  • Your inner world creates your outer world
  • You have to believe it before you see it
  • It’s not enough to just think, you have to feel it too

As you shifted your perspective, sure enough, you manifested more and learned even more. Now you started hearing things like:

  • You have to be a vibrational match to what you want
  • You don’t attract what you want, you attract what you are
  • The higher up on the vibrational scale you are, the quicker you manifest, and my favorite –
  • Just be happy now

And so you’ve changed your thoughts, you’ve added some emotion and you focus on being in joy as much as possible, but things just aren’t manifesting as you’d like them to. What’s going on? Why aren’t you creating the things that you want?

You’re in a state of Vibrational Contradiction. You’re saying and thinking one thing, you even believe it on some level, but there is still some level of belief that is contradicting it. Somewhere deep down in your subconscious there’s something holding you back saying that what you want is not possible. There’s some memory residing in you that says “Nope – that’s not what I recall to be true – I’m just not feeling this new thing.”

Great…now what do you do? What do you do to get rid of this vibrational contradiction and become a vibrational match?

Focus on living a life of inspiration.

“What?!” I can hear you saying..followed by “First you keep telling me to just move up the scale. Then you say appreciate. Now you’re telling me I have to be inspired?!”

Well, in a word, YES! Inspiration is just the next level. Inspiration is when you are “in spirit”, when you have released and cleared all blockages and allow the universal wisdom of spirit to come through you. Being in a state of appreciation and/or love is pretty much the closest thing to it. Love allows you to squeeze out everything else and leaves no room for the contradicting vibrations to exist.

I could give you all sorts of exercises to do to clear the blockages that are holding you back. However, I want to make this as simple as possible. For a few days, or even a whole week, just focus on love. Yeah, yeah, yeah…I know…”what if that’s too far of a reach for me?” Well, I said I was going to make it simple, didn’t I?

For the next week, do this experiment with me…switch your mind chatter to Love FM. Whenever you notice a thought you don’t want to think, a judgment, a doubt,  enthusiasm, optimism, hope, or even no thoughts at all…just say to yourself “I love you.”  That’s it. Nothing drawn out or crazy. Tell you what, you don’t even have to mean it…just say it. Say the three little words “I love you” to yourself every chance you get and see what shifts. See if things stop holding you back and you start getting more inspired to take action. And if it inspires you so, let me know how you’re progressing.

I love you.

What’s Running Through Your Mind?

May 6th, 2009 by Lena

One of the first things that people learn about the law of attraction is that thoughts create things and that by changing your thoughts you can change your world. I have known many people who go into panic mode when they realize this because they think they have to monitor every little thought. I’m here to tell you that isn’t necessarily true.

If you’re anything like me, you have found it easy in the past to beat yourself up about not being perfect at something, regardless of what it is, insert your ‘something’ here. We are trained to look for what is wrong and to fix it, so it is VERY easy to notice what you are doing wrong and beat yourself up over not doing it ‘right’.

You can stop beating yourself up start focusing on the great things you are doing to monitor your thoughts with these steps.

1. Reframe what ‘doing it right’ means. For many doing something right means being perfect at the new methodology; in this case thinking positive, empowering thoughts at ALL times that promote you staying in a high vibration. Guess what? Being positive 100% of the time is highly unlikely because it just isn’t part of the human experience. Part of the human experience is contrast and another part is feeling emotions – the full gambit of emotions, not just the happy ones. So what can you do instead?  In monitoring and managing your thoughts, look at ‘doing it right’ as making progress daily and noticing an increase in the time you spend thinking high vibration thoughts.

2. When you become aware that you are thinking a lower vibration thought acknowledge it, feel the emotion associated with it and choose to move on from it. Realize that the thought could be there for many different reasons. Utilize the thought that is running through your mind as an opportunity to refocus and define what you do want o think about instead.

3. Choose the next better feeling thought. It isn’t always about changing a low vibration/negative thought to a high vibration/positive thought. What is more important is that you choose a better feeling thought – one that is higher in vibration yet not so high that you can’t connect with it. It is a higher vibration to be angry than to be depressed. It is a higher vibration to optimistic than to be hopeful.

4. Realize that it’s not EVERY little thought ha counts. We have hundreds of thousands of thoughts per day. It is impossible to monitor each and every one. What counts is your baseline…what vibration to predominantly hover at? Monitor that and strive to shift o a higher overall vibration.

5. Celebrate your shifts to a higher dominant vibration. Shifting your thoughts is not a one-time event, it is a daily practice of being aware and consciously choosing to reach for a better feeling thought. Celebrate each time that you notice you are choosing more and more high vibration thoughts. I still beat myself up occasionally. What I am much better at though is not beating myself up as much and shifting out of it much quicker.

The more you choose to become aware of the thoughts running through your mind, the more you will choose to change them to thoughts that serve you better. The more often you choose thoughts that serve you better, the more often you’ll have better feeling thoughts. The more often you have better feeling thoughts, the less often you’ll have lower vibration thoughts.

Soon you’ll stop thinking about making a thought better feeling and instead wonder “where did that thought come from?” when a lower vibration thought creeps in because your dominant vibration will include better feeling thoughts. You see, from here on out you’ll always monitor your thoughts. What will change is the way that you monitor them, and how you work with them.

I encourage you to spend this week celebrating whenever you choose a better feeling thought and focusing on how good celebrating yourself makes you feel. Feel free to celebrate here and share your comments about how your vibration is shifting up the scale.

The Freedom to Choose

May 1st, 2009 by Lena

One of the things that keeps most people on a path of growth is recognizing their expansive freedom of choice. As we get more and more in touch with our infinite nature we realize that at any moment we can choose who/what/where we want to be and start taking actions and making more choices to get us closer to that desire. In our zest for infinite freedom though, we often limit others.

Do you allow the people in your life to experience joy, freedom and success on their terms? Or do you define what you ‘think’ is best for them and as a result limit them to your beliefs and desires? Are you allowing others the freedom of choice that we all deserve?

While it is true that we all have the freedom of choice, and can say yes or no to whatever someone has presented, we will all attract much better relationships if we approach other’s needs with compassion and allowing them to express their desires. It is in allowing another to truly be who they are that we embrace them as infinite beings just like ourselves – and true deliberate creators, manifesting from a point of choice.

While compassion can help us to understand where another person is, it can also help us to limit them. In seeking to understand another’s point of view, there is often a knee jerk reaction to then help them, or make choices for them, based on what you would want if you felt the same. Why does this happen? Perhaps it is from what we are taught with the Golden Rule: Do unto others as you would like them do unto you.

This approach puts you in the driver’s seat and you choose what you feel is best for someone based on what you want. I feel that true compassion is best expressed when you reach for another level; when you seek to understand and become aware of another’s point of view and then offer them choices. Instead of the Golden Rule, work with the Platinum Rule: Do unto others as they would like done unto themselves.

For example, someone close to you may be in need of support. For many of us, our first inclination is to respond how we would want to be treated. Maybe we prefer alone time to reflect and go within, and so we choose to distance ourselves to give the other space. However, our friend may need to be surrounded by love and wants us even closer. By choosing what we felt was best for them; we have limited them to our beliefs and needs.

Four magic words can lead you to encouraging the freedom of choice and infiniteness in others. Actually there are many combinations of four words that will do. The next time you think you know what is best for someone, ask one of these questions and unlock the possibilities for their joy to flow:

What do you need?
How can I help?
What do you want?
What do you desire?
Can I do anything?
What can I do?
Is there anything more?
What’s your biggest dream?
What makes you happy?
What are your needs?

Keep probing until you really get to the root of what they need or want and then encourage them to make choices that will create it.

Allow others, and yourself, to deliberately create the life of their dreams – or the moment of joy for right now – based on the freedom of choosing what is right for the individual by their standards, not by someone else’s.

Who Are You Choosing To Be?

February 4th, 2009 by Lena

What are you looking for? I don’t mean in life…I mean right now…today…this moment? What are you looking for as you go about your day, encountering different people and having different experiences?

Are you walking through your day looking for the worst in everything or are you looking for the best? Are you being judgmental or are you approaching things with optimism, love and appreciation?

Where ever you go, whatever you do, one thing is for sure: there YOU are. YOU are the factor that determines your outcomes. Granted you can’t control if it snows or rains or how someone in your life reacts. What you can control though is YOU. How YOU react. How YOU approach things. What YOU perceive.

Whoever YOU are dictates what kinds of things you see, hear or feel. So I suppose when I ask “What are you looking for?” I’m really asking “Who are you choosing to be?” and “What vibration are you choosing to live from?”

Are you choosing to embody coming from a space of love or from a space of fear? Are you choosing to be angry or disappointed? How is coming from any of those spaces, or embodying any of those emotions dictating what you see and who you are?

Take a minute right now to assess where you are…who you are being right now. And now, I invite you to take it up a notch or two. Choose to come from a different space, to embody a different emotion right now. You can do this for the rest of the day or just try it on for a few minutes. And you don’t have to make a drastic change, just go up one rung on the ladder if that is what feels good, or go up a few if you want.

Regardless of how far you reach, just reach and move up a little. It can be as subtle as moving from anger to discouragement, boredom to contentment, hopefulness to optimism, positive expectation to enthusiasm, etc. Or it could be bigger like moving from optimism to empowerment or contentment to love.

Choose how far you want to stretch today, and for how long, but do this for me…do choose to be an expanded version of you for at least a few minutes and take a step back and look at how what you’re looking for and what you see shifts according to who you are.

May you choose to live from a different space moving forward and allow in all the goodness that will flow your way from that expanded space.

The Magic of Focusing On What You Want

January 19th, 2009 by Lena

What if for today, for just this day, you chose to focus on what you wanted? To focus on the things you want to happen? And what if you could do that tomorrow too. And the next day?

The most likely thing that would happen is that you would start to notice things around you that are related to what you want. Take the classic example of a car. You decide you want a certain car and suddenly you start seeing them all over the place. What is really happening is that you open your awareness to the object of your desire.

Once your awareness is opened, your conscious mind will look for ways to make it happen. You’ll start asking yourself about how, where and when you’ll get what you are wanting.

If you can stay very open and aware, you’ll start to think of little things that you can do. You’ll get gut feelings or your intuition will kick in with next steps that you can take. I call these inspired actions.

As you choose to do something with those inspired actions, you start to get more inspired actions coming your way.

Not only are you on your way to creating the object of your desire, you’re getting really close to having what you want.

A funny thing happens next – you might start to notice that you’re acting a little different. You might make new friends, pick up different skills, start going to new places. Why you ask? Because as you get closer to creating what you want in life you start to morph into the type of person that already has those things. You start to become a vibrational match to it.

So how can you get to being a vibrational match to what you want so that it comes to you easier? It all starts with not looking at the what-is and instead starting to look at the what you want.

Write a better feeling story about it and describe what you want in detail.

Look it over and feel good about it each time you read it.

Start paying attention for inspired actions and act upon them when they come to you.

Most of all relax and enjoy the ride.

What are you inspired to do right now that will get you one step closer to the life of your dreams? Got something? Great! Go have fun doing it now!
